Old man: "Don't go, its your destiny!" The crazy old man is trying to make me read a book HE WROTE ABOUT ME!
Me: "You're a creep! You don't even know me!" By this point, I just want to disappear. I want to let my life happen like it is supposed to. Not cheating it with this book!
Old man: "Would you just let me explain myself?!" The crazy man grabbed my arm and pulled me back!
Me: "Let me go!" I'm crying. My whole body trembling. MY heart about to paint the walls of this ancient book store.
Old man: "Come with me"
He took me to a room in the back FULL OF BOOKS LIKE MINE. All of them have different people's names.
Me: "You have problems!" I shout at him as he disappears behind shelves in this back room.
Old man: "No, i have a gift!" He shouts as he is walking toward me with a different book.
Me: "Who is that about?" I'm curious now.
Old man: "Your grandma"
Me: "What?!" I snatched it out of his hands and i start reading.
Me: "How much is this?" I'm desperate now. I will walk out of here naked if it means i can keep this book.
Old man: "Your time" He looks familiar. I have dreamed of him before.
Me: "Explain yourself. Why is this book about my life? Is it even all correct? Why me? Why my grandma?"
Old man: "I will explain it all to you. But first I need to ask you, do you have dreams of the future and they actually come true?"
Me: "Yyyeeeessss....????" I'm sweating-nervous because I really do.
Old man: "That is just the beginning...." Now he really looks crazy. His big round eyes, which are the only signs of youth about him besides how excited he is, are bulging toward me behind his bifocals. He reminds me of a kid talking about going to the amusement park.
Me: "What do you mean, JUST THE BEGINNING?" I'm scared again.
Old man: "You will end up like me. Dreaming of someone's life. In one night, a year of their life is downloaded into your brain. The urge to tell their story to them and everyone is extremely powerful, but you just can't. And the strange thing is....... I don't even know why yet it hasn't happened before....." He's drifting off into lala land. Oh my God old man speak!
Me: "What? what is it?" Please don't tell me that... oh no. I know what it is.
Old Man: "I dreamed you came to my store and i gave you this book and you read it. It is your destiny to read it. I just finished it last night but i must have sleep-walked because it ended up out on the store shelves."
Me: "So you want me to take this and read it? Why?"
Old man: "Because it is your destiny."
Me: "When did you start dreaming about my grandma?"
Old man: "Your first day of pre-school." OMG she was supposed to be there that day but she passed away about two weeks before that. Her body just couldn't take it anymore.....
Me: "This is too much for me. Why do I have the same gift as you?! Will I end up going this crazy? I don't want to screw up anyone's destiny!"
Old man: "I'm not messing up your destiny or anyone's. I'm keeping myself from going crazy. I'm a hero in a way...."
Me: "Why? What do you do?"
Old man: "I try to mess with fate and save people from massive tragedies."
Me: "Why would you do that?"
Old man: "I feel guilty for letting those terrible things happen to them. When its criminal cases, i contact the police. I have developed relationships with the police force to listen and act on my tips. They just wish I knew more."
Me: "So they know about your gift?"
Old man: "They suspect but they only kid. They just let me peacefully help them with their jobs."
Me: "Wow.... and I can do the same thing?"
Old man: "Yes but you better get going. DO NOT READ THESE BOOKS AROUND ANYONE!"
Me: "Okay. will we ever talk again?"
Old man: "You'll find out."
I leave the store and contacted Shania. She got impatient with my whole ordeal with the crazy old man and left to meet her boyfriend for lunch. I have to lie to her... She can not know my identity..... I feel like Superman.... I never knew this day would come.
